    SNOW IN ALGARVE

My father used to tell me a story about the reason why the castle of Silves was surrounded with almond trees.

During the occupation of the Saracens in the south of the Iberian Peninsula  in where today  Portugal is found, and at its most southern province: Algarve a Arab price took a Portuguese princess in custody and fell in love with her.  The princess was from the north area of Portugal which  remained unoccupied. She was used to the winter snow around her castle and the sadness grew in her heart deeper every year.  The prince, in an effort to make her happy order almond trees planted around the castle as far as the eye couls see.  Every spring when the trees would bloom, the almond white flowers did create the illusion of snow and the pricess returned from her depression.  The following images were created by my loving and talented son Dr. Christian Chauvin MD during this past spring.

Tirando Retratos do Universo Espiritual

Taking Pictures of the Spiritual  World

Sometimes as we look with our eyes, our spirit is seeing other universes.  All my life I have had the opportunity to experience the most fantastic sceneries and have  had the hardest time keeping them to myself.  However, now that I have the help of the magic of digital photography, I can journey into that secret universe and bring back images that I can share with others.

The essence of the experience can't be brought back out into this universe but the imagery in itself invites the viewer to reflect and hopefully allow themselves the excitement of their own journeys to the heart of their own creativity.

This one ties together a snowy day  and the cosmic immensity of the universe in which we live. The poetic implications that brought this image to life or perhaps the other way around...the image brings an endless flow of poetic, philosophic, and spiritual reflections to life.

The following poetic arrangement reflects my feelings.  There is some order, yet there is some separation in the thoughts and ideas stemming from the words and their arrangement
