MORPHOGRAPHY

Morphography
I created a word to go with this piece. Sometimes the process of creating an image is one of the most magical experiences in my life.
When the essence of spirit manages to journey freely, all that consciousness does is observe. Not in a passive way -- as I would say watching TV is -- but as becoming the journey. Since this state of being is outside of the common dwelling of human life, I find describing it always incomplete and incorrect. Yet, I must make an effort.
In a way I do with the association of feelings and perceptions as a decorator does in t6he matching of colors for an environment.
I play with the media creating imagery and effects that progressively "feel" right when added to original photos that have been captured, not as finished work but more like annotations for a creation yet to be born.
In this image "Morphography" I was experiencing a sense of unity with the universe in a way in which mystery, wander, and elegance in an ever changing world, connects us all in constant transformation.
Once I arrived at this image, I realized that the tree branches and the birds created an illusion of leafs that weren't there. Reminded me a little of Escher's work.
The night, fool Moon, gives me the tome of cosmic mystery. The tree and birds connects us -- the Earth -- to that cosmic wander. And ultimately places us in space -- where we are and belong -- mot on the ground -- which actually is in space anyway -- and frees us to become whole with our own wander about all that is.

In the following days I kept having a sense of separation between the image and my feelings. I loved it but something wasn't being expressed that further expressed a feeling of connectivity between the viewer and the wander that projects itself beyond the tangible aspect of the image of the Moon .
This is when I felt that by adding a man-made item in the foreground and stars in the background I could stretch the emotional tri-dimensionality of the image.
The street light offers a warm foreground that contrasts with the coolness of the moonlight. The stars in the "distance" projects us beyond the known space which the Moon id our main symbol. I feel as if I have been able to visually express the feeling projected by the image more deeply with this last addition.
By bringing some tones of the foreground into the starry background, I have projected the felling of warmth from the street lights in to the far distant universe. This choice adds a sense of home to the far distant universe instead of a cold, empty, and impersonal cosmos. separated from us.
This is not an attempt to explain the universe to anybody, but rather as an effort to express a personal feeling through still imagery.
PRECIOUSNESS OF INSIGNIFICANT MOMENTS

Sometimes when I capture a candid moment like this one, what appears to be an uneventful moment captures volumes of reflection upon our own lives, the world at large, and and the infinite number of possible meanings and reflections which stem from such humble moment.
The Fall of the season and the age of the subjects create a sense of belonging, and harmony that brigs peace to our hearts. Trees and grass represent the Earth, the buildings represent our creation upon Her bosom, and in the middle: us...
THE SPIRITUAL PORTRAIT

Sometimes when I am in the presence of a spiritual being, I get percepts of their energy which exists on the other side of light, and therefore may not be captured with the camera the way the physical aspect of anyone may. This is when I allow spirit to take over and guide me in the creation of work that reflects such energies in the form of symbolic imagery.
Concrete Space

Last summer's heat melted a concrete slab at the entrance of a parking lot turning it into an almost alien structure of a piece of a Klingon blown up spaceship.
Playing with Gray

There needs not to be a deep and philosophic root to the creation of an image. Sometimes is the pure joy of playing with color, form, and shape, that brings an image to its creation. Just like a piece of candy; it just tastes good! Or.. just like a yo-yo it's just fun to play for the sake of the joy of itself.
PURRFECT MOMENT

As I was "focusing" on the "Precious Insignificant Moments" picture, I noticed a cat on the window seal of the building to the left of my shot.
I decided to give it "shot" -- boy! am full of puns here!!! -- and as I placed the kitty in the right spot in the framed composition with the fall leafs, he cooperated by looking at me! I owe him/her a treat!
SUNSET JOURNEY STUDIES

I love to play and I do so every time I have a chance. To play is to love oneself. Is to respect our being here on Earth, and is to contribute to the whole with what your heart has most to give. I do so by giving myself time to play with my toys which happen to be my cameras and computers. I take adventure trips through the magical realm of software discovering some of the infinite possibly that Adobe and Corel offer me. Then I keep the one I like. Often I have to make myself stop because I have to go to sleep or have a commission to work on, or some other king of fun to which I have committed myself to pursuit.
The above couple of images are spoils from one of such journeys.
